      Jannik Sinner torna in campo a Pechino. Il numero uno italiano cerca punti decisivi per qualificarsi alle Finals di Torino e chiudere in bellezza un anno pieno di successi. A distanza di un mese dall’ottavo di finale contro Zverev a New York, dopo le polemiche legate all’assenza in Coppa Davis, l’italiano tornerà sulla sua superficie preferita: il veloce indoor. Avversario del primo turno di Sinner sarà Daniel Evans, mai incrociato finora dal circuito e capace di conquistare già un titolo ATP 500 nel 2023, a Washington.       Nel cuore dell’Olympic Green Tennis Center di Pechino, Lorenzo Sonego, numero 56 ATP, ha visto interrompere la sua avventura al primo turno del prestigioso China Open, torneo ATP 500 con un montepremi di 3.633.975 dollari. L’atleta torinese è stato sconfitto da Ugo Humbert, numero 36 del mondo, con un punteggio di 7-5, 3-6, 6-0. Questa vittoria ha permesso al francese di interrompere una serie di cinque sconfitte consecutive contro tennisti italiani. L’ultima volta che Humbert aveva assaporato la vittoria contro un avversario italiano era stato proprio contro Sonego, al Masters 1000 di Toronto nel 2021.
      Un Match di Alti e Bassi: La partita ha visto Sonego adottare una strategia più offensiva, cercando più di frequente la rete dopo il servizio. Il giocatore italiano sembrava in controllo, ma ha subìto un’improvvisa battuta d’arresto, simbolizzata da un inusuale errore e un doppio fallo che hanno favorito Humbert nel conseguire il primo break della partita. Nonostante un inizio difficoltoso nel secondo set e la perdita del servizio, Sonego è riuscito a ribaltare lo scenario, dimostrando tenacia e determinazione. La tensione era palpabile, con entrambi i giocatori che si contendevano ogni punto.
      La Rimonta e la Svolta: La rimonta di Sonego ha cambiato le dinamiche del parziale, ma Humbert, pur perdendo il filo della partita nel secondo set, ha saputo reagire con determinazione. Il francese ha ripreso il controllo nel terzo set, mostrando una solidità che gli ha permesso di veleggiare verso la vittoria. Per il secondo set consecutivo, Sonego ha perso il servizio in avvio, e Humbert ha capitalizzato, conseguendo il nono successo stagionale sul duro contro avversari fuori dalla Top 50.
      Il Cammino di Humbert: Con questa vittoria, Humbert si prepara ora ad affrontare negli ottavi o Andrey Rublev o Cameron Norrie. In caso di ulteriore avanzamento, potrebbe trovarsi di fronte la testa di serie numero 2, Daniil Medvedev, che punta a diventare il primo giocatore a conquistare tre ATP 500 in una stessa stagione, dopo l’amico Andrey Rublev nel 2020.
