Grazie al suo settimo successo a Wimbledon, Novak Djokovic si è avvicinato alla qualificazione alle Nitto ATP Finals di Torino, in programma al Pala Alpitour del capoluogo piemontese dal 13 al 20 novembre. Sebbene il serbo rimanga infatti decimo nella Pepperstone ATP Race to Turin – quest’anno la ATP non attribuisce punti per i risultati ottenuti ai Championships -, i regolamento prevede infatti che si qualifichino sì i primi otto nella Race, ma se un campione Slam dovesse chiudere la stagione tra la nona e la ventesima posizione entrerebbe di diritto al posto dell’ottavo in classifica.
Per quanto riguarda l’Italia, nella Race to Turin il primo candidato per un posto a Torino rimane Matteo Berrettini, dodicesimo in classifica. Tre posti più indietro troviamo Jannik Sinner che nel ranking ATP ha scavalcato il romano, cui sono scaduti i 1200 punti della finale di Wimbledon 2021, diventando da questa settimana il nuovo numero uno azzurro.
