Come la scorsa estate, la Las Vegas Summer League ospita i 30 franchising NBA per dieci giorni. Quest’anno, novità, anche due Nazionali: Croazia e Cina. Nonostante alcune assenze, si tratta del campionato estivo più prestigioso – a parte forse i Mondiali FIBA – e indubbiamente merita di essere seguito. Si comincia oggi, 5 luglio, e si finisce il 15.
Regole del gioco. Le squadre giocheranno quattro “partite in girone” per determinare una classifica e il torneo inizierà quindi dal 13 luglio. Ogni squadra giocherà almeno 5 partite. I migliori saranno in grado di farne 8.
Sul campo, un quarto di tempo dura 10 minuti, non 12, con 8 minuti di pausa all’intervallo. Previsto, se necessario, un tempo supplementare che durerà 2 minuti. Durante la fase a gironi, un secondo overtime sarà giocato con la regola della “morte improvvisa”, ovvero la prima squadra che segna vince la partita. Durante il torneo, torniamo ad un sistema classico.
Lo staff tecnico avrà diritto a due time-out per metà tempo, sapendo che ci saranno anche due timeout TV obbligatori per quarto. Ogni allenatore avrà anche diritto a un “challenge” per partita .
Alle squadre sono concessi 10 falli per quarto prima di entrare in bonus. Come a Sacramento e nello Utah, a Las Vegas ogni giocatore ha diritto a 10 falli nella fase a gironi. Durante il torneo, scendiamo a 6 falli.
